What does God say about you?

By Destiney Foster

I read this scripture this morning, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable perfect will of God.” -Romans 12:2

Then I began to analyze this word more and put it into a way that I could understand it better, and this is what I received from it. “Do not be changed by this world, but be changed by renewing your mind so that you may know God’s perfect will for your life.” Romans 12:2

So then I began to figure out how to renew my mind, when I am dwelling on negativity? When we dwell on what happened in the past? When we dwell on what our parents may have said to us a long time ago, when we dwell on people telling us that we’d never be anything or amount to anything?????? When we dwell on hurtful words that the people that we love the most (significant others), may have said to us. So we believe them because we value their opinions above anyone else. One thing I have realized is that we can’t control what everybody else does, but we can control how we respond to it.

What if I told you that your real enemy is not even a person? That your real enemy is not people. I’m bringing to your attention who the real enemy is… i’m exposing him letting you know that the negative thoughts that are playing in your mind each and everyday. “We don’t fight against flesh & blood, we fight against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). & the only way to get through this battle in your mind is to renew your mind and know, what does God’s word say about you?

That person that you are mad at, that made you believe you are a failure. You are not a failure, you are victorious in Christ. “God says that you can do all things through Christ, that strengthens you” (-Philippians 4:13). So why are we believing their words above God’s words? God says I have a future for your life, so why are we believing them? When they say you will never amount to anything. God says, “I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope & a future”( Jeremiah 29:11). See that’s why the enemy comes at us so hard when we are down, because he knows if he can get us to believe that we will never amount to anything. He can get us to quit! He can get us to give up on our dreams, give up on our family, and even give up on our lives. Then he wins!

I came by to let you know on today, that you are prosperous in God. God has a future for you. You were created for a special purpose. When God made you, he said it was good. Forget the negativity that anybody ever told you if it was from your mother, father, brothers, sisters, mates, teachers, or friends. Just remember what does God say about me, what does his word say? He says that “I am made in his image & his likeness” (Genesis 1:27). He says that I am the “righteous in Christ”(2 Corinthians 5:21). He says that “he will never leave me nor will he forsake me”(Deuteronomy 31:6). He says that “I am the Head and not the tail, that I am above and not beneath” (Deuteronomy 28:13).

So the next time a negative thought comes into your head about yourself. Renew your mind and remember what does God say about you? I hope this blessed you as much as it blessed me!

Small Prayer: Dear Lord, we thank you for everything. I pray Lord for this person reading that their mind is free and it becomes renewed in you. So that they can know who you have called them to be. Forgive them of their sins and transgressions. Help them to also forgive. Free them from their negative thoughts that have become strongholds in their minds. I ask that you break them free today, strongholds are broken and released right now in the precious name of Jesus name. These & all other blessings. I pray Amen!
