Lord, i believe! Help my unbelief! I’m Not easily Defeated

Have you ever just woke up & was already tired, exhausted, and under the weather? The other day I woke up, & I was already tired, exhausted, and under the weather. I just began to pray out to God and express my feelings to Him. I said God, I need to know that you are here with me. After I had prayed, I began to read my devotion. & at the end of my devotion was the scripture Genesis 28:15 that read, “I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I promised you.” I had to read this again because I knew that God heard my prayer and he was speaking to me. So if you are lonely, broken, and confused, God says, “I am with you & will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you”… I don’t know if you needed a word, but I needed a word from God that day.

Can I be transparent with you, I received some great news last week, but can I tell you that even though I received great news, it hadn’t even hit me yet because of so many things that’s been going on around me. & I couldn’t even enjoy it, not because I was ungrateful, but I was mentally and emotionally drained. Maybe, I had been mourning over somethings that I had lost during the process. This wasn’t a easy win for me. Can I tell you, it costs to win! God blesses me, but He always gives me something to keep me on my knees praying about as well. But I had received some great news and I couldn’t even fully enjoy it because of what was going on around me.

I was reminded of the movie Bird Box… and how Sandra Bullock went through so much to get to her unexpected end. She couldn’t even see her way out. She was blindfolded the whole entire time during the fight. & when she finally made it out, I could just expect that she was drained from it. You’re happy, you made it out, but you’re drained from it. I’m drained from it. & I know she was drained from it. I’m grateful, I made it out, but i’m drained from it. I’m grateful that I am in the marriage, but i’m drained from it. I’m drained from losing the house. I’m grateful that I passed this class, but i’m drained from it. Have you ever just been drained from anything??? & its okay to admit that you too are drained now, because I believe that God wants to free you from it on today.

So I looked up an overview on the movie Bird Box on Google & this is what it said,

“when a mysterious force decimates the population, one thing is certain if you see it you will die… The survivors must now avoid coming face to face with an entity that takes the form of their worst fears. Searching for hope and a new beginning, a woman and her children embark on a dangerous journey through the woods, and down a river to find the one place that may offer sanctuary. To make it, they’ll have to cover their eyes from the evil that chases them and complete the trip blindfolded.

So I had to ask myself, what are you looking at???? Because if in the movie, if they look at their situation they will die. If I continue to look at my situation it will drain me, discourage me, and take the very life out of me. So I had to ask myself are you looking at your situation, or are you looking at God? Are you looking at what you are going through or are you looking at God?

Sometimes in life troubles or trials seem to weigh us down. & it seems like sometimes we have even made it to our wits end. Where we have taken all that we can take and we can’t afford to take one more thing going wrong. & if one more thing goes wrong we may even consider throwing in the towel or giving somebody a piece of our mind. Because after all nobody can relate to what we are going through, right??? Nobody has ever been talked about, nobody has ever known how they were going to pay their bills!!! Nobody has ever had to go through this in life. That is a trick of the enemy. Sometimes the devil makes us feel like we are the only ones who are suffering in this world. Because God didn’t answer my prayer like I wanted him to, so I might as well just give up, because this person didn’t respect me, or this person talked about me behind my back, my life is now over!!!!!! & sometimes this can cause us to become so discouraged to the point of just giving it all up. But I just came by to remind you that if God be for you, who can be against you!

The Bible says to count it all joy when you run into divers temptation; knowing that the testing of your faith produces perseverance (James 1:2-3). If we never had anything go wrong in our lives we wouldn’t need God! If you never had an issue, you would never need to believe that God could bring you out. God wants to get the glory out of your situation and out of your circumstance. It may be hard for us, but it’s easy for God. I was thinking this morning of how the disciples were walking so close with God and sometimes became so afraid. Like when the disciples was on the boat and a storm came and Jesus was sleeping and they woke Him up like Jesus didn’t know what was going on. They too faced unbelief. Jesus already knew what they were going through even while He was sleep. In Matthew 8: 24-27 reads,” Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and spoke him, saying, “Lord save us! We’re going to drown!’ He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!” So no matter how close you are walking with God sometimes issues will come in your life to get you to take your eyes off of God and look at your situation, but we have to remember if God is on your side no enemy, warlock, no witch, or anything else will defeat you in Jesus name. It’s apart of your making , it’s apart of who God is calling you to be. It seems like sometimes we are going through situations that seem so big. But then we have to remind ourselves, I woke up this morning! That means that God is not through with me yet! Because He who began a good work in me will complete it (Philippians 1:6). So I won’t allow the enemy to get inside of my mind and make me forget what God has promised me. So we say Lord, I believe but help me where I don’t believe, I’m not easily defeated. Help me when all I see is me being defeated from this storm, help me to see this situation the way you see it.

There was another man in the Bible who was also afraid before a battle but God took the veil from over his eyes and allowed them to see with his spiritual eyes. In 2Kings 6:15-18 it reads, “when the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. ‘Oh no, my lord What shall we do?’ the servant asked. ‘Don’t be afraid,’ those who are with us are more than those who are with them.’ And Elisha prayed, ‘Open his eyes, Lord so that he may see.’ Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, ‘Strike this army with blindness.’ So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked.” From the looks of it, it looked like their army would be defeated, but because Elisha the prophet prayed & God honored his request and stepped in right on time, so they could win the battle.

Sometimes we have to say to ourselves… Lord, I don’t know how you are going to provide, but you said that all things work together for the good of them who love you. Lord, I believe, but help my unbelief. Lord, I don’t know where the money is coming from, but you know! You will make every crooked path straight. I don’t know how you are going to make a way, but I know you will! You have never failed me and this storm, this situation, this circumstance, it too shall pass!!!! You’ve got me through it before and your’e going to get me through it again. Lord, I believe, but help me where I don’t believe. & God is okay with your honesty. He made you He knows already that you are afraid and that you may have some unbelief in your heart, but ask him to help you believe. I just want to leave you with, what do you have your eyes on, are your eyes on God, or are your eyes on your situation? If your eyes are on your situation ask God to help you put them back on Him & He will see you through. Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean onto your own understanding, but in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” You guys be blessed!

Small Prayer:

Dear Lord, I just want to say thank you. I ask that you forgive us of our sins of anything that we have done, thought, or said wrong. Because you said you were wounded for our transgression the chastisement of our peace was upon you and by your stripes. We are already healed. Thank you for your deliverance and thank you for setting them free. Free them from every fiery dart, every plot and every snare. Have your way Precious Holy Spirit, its all in your hands in Jesus name I pray Amen
